...that the keyboard control panel under OS 9 has an option for configuring the Funtion keys? I think if you press an unassigned Fkey (I always had my control strip hiding key as F12) you get a dialogue box about the fact that you can configure them.

This only works on the machines with the new motherboard design - G4, iBook, iMac.

Gene it also works on the Bronze Keyboard. If you goto www.resexcellence they have a resedit hack to make it work on older machines.
