Something that I started a while ago, got lost in a hard drive wipe, and got restarted thanks to all the neat new themeing apps encouraging me to do so. It's a port from KoL's Cel Shaded for windows, but my roommate bugged me enough to port it, so I am. This is just the green version, but I'm going to work on the blue version, an orange inverted one, and a grey one too.

Any feedback thus far?

I like it, it's kind of weird though having the selected tab be green and the others orange. It'd look cool the other way around, so the other ones blend in with the background and the orange/selected one sticks out more. Love it though!

I agree with the above feedback. Other than that, please keep the progress coming :]

Do you have any screenshots of the original theme by the way?

Pretty cool, and it won't look bad against Aqua stuff. I agree though that the "selected" tab doesn't stand out like the unselected tabs.

Well, then! I'm one to listen to input, so I probably will goa bout doing that. I didn't really think about it anyways, so I'm not set on having it either way.

I've also gotta go back and add a shadow under the pushbuttons. They tend to look better than way.

Here's a big ol' pic of the green and blue variations from the official one: http://www.deviantart.com/view/2590509/

I like it, though my only gripe would be the little drop shadow under the widgets, which kind of kills the whole "cel-shadedness" of it. Since the idea of it is to have sharp lighting, minus the gradients, the drop shadow feels a little out of place. IMO, of course. Still looks awesome.

Yeah, I actually did remove them before you said that

I've also added them to the push buttons. I'll post another preview soon to see what all your reactions are, but I think it helps pop those pushbuttons off the background a bit better.

I like the blue one as well. A grey one would be nice too.

One thing I like about those Windows pics is the Dock skin. I would suggest including one of those in the package. (anyone know if ShapeShifter will support dock skins in the future?)

Do you plan on making the progress bar cel shaded? It would be amazing if you did.

Made some changes:

microrario: of course, what's the point of doing a theme if you don't change everything to match

Looks really good.

I hope you make several color schemes though. I'm not sure about the green and orange. You should do at least one that's just white and grey with color buttons, for pro users. I'd use it for sure then.

Oh the irony about talking about this as a 'port' of a Win theme.
This theme was created for OSX first, as seen in this thread. A Windows version was taken from the ideas originally started there, and the OSX version was never compleated or relesed.

Well, I assume KoL got permission, and I got it from him, so I should be good...

Plus, I'm not going to let this fizzle

yeah, I totally love both colors. I have wanted this theme since you showed is the screenshot months ago.

Green first man

Ryan

P.S. Make sure that you get the tab issue fixed. The orange should be the selected state (in both themes.) Thanx!

i like it, though I would consider changing any of the remaining (highly technical term) "blue objects" to orange for the green theme. Ultimately its up to you, and I like what im seeing a lot, but i think that having the colors stay uniform (orange buttons, orange scroll bars, so orange progress bars, etc.) would be best.

keep up the good work though. Any ETA on the theme?

Um, sorry if I'm a bit late to this party, but I notice that your lighting is coming down straight from the top... but yet your shadows are 45 to the right. That doesn't seem particularly consistent... my suggestion would be either change the drop shadows to be directly below, or add in some indication that the light is coming from the upper-left, possibly something like this:

Just a thought.

Hehe, I knew there was a reason this theme seemed inherently kewl.

I am so stoked about this theme. I'm just a little bummed that it will only work for SS. So far SS does weird things to my adobe apps and makes SoundTrack really sluggish. I have no idea why

I still am going to figure out how to get around this as I am so overwhelmingly excited about SS and all the themes being ported to it and created for it.

The original drop shadow doesn't make much sense either, but this is a cartoony theme, things don't have to make sense!

Nuts! It's going to be an SS Theme? I was hoping for .dlta Well, maybe someone will be nice enough to port one over for us non SS users. SS does weird things with some of my apps and getting to the Preferences; makes the apps quit like <snap!> that!

Because as soon as a screeny goes up it's open season on ports/adaptations/versions, etc... precisely why I never post screenies of unfinished themes (this one started off as a 'I think a Zelda cell-shaded theme would look like so' and it went fom there - it was a quick example I never intended to flesh out). The XP kids cruise this forum as well

I'll release a guiKit and dtla format. I'm designing it in guiKit mode under Theme Park, so there amy be some bugginess with dtla users, but I'll do my best to fix things up.

Oh, and this is gonna take some time just because it's my first OSX theme

Nothing really major to report at this time. Just continuing work. I'll be slowing down a bit with finals coming up next week, but not stopping

Oh, and 1c3, I'm making a grey version, if that helps

Ya I was wondering about that... I thought that this idea was created on this forum and never an XP theme before.

Those stupid PeeCee users can't even think for them self's. There are very few unofficial Mac ports of Windows themes and about every original Mac theme ever has been ported to XP ether unofficially or officially...

Ahh, finals. Dude, If I were you, I would put this on the back burner until you are done with finals. I have them too, I feel your pain.

UnleEees, you only have some easy finals! Then work like a donkey to finish!

A grey version!? KEwhew! Though, I am giddy about the green and blue ones.

Well, from what he made, it looks very much similar. The widgets are a bit different, but look ok, I think. I've gotta do the sunken effect to the toolbar button, but that should be cake with the other buttons done.

I've done a lot since the last screenie. I want to get some more done before showing anything else, but it's still a-comin'

I even managed to get one easter egg in there
