ok so, ill cut to the chase. I recently acquired Panther to Install(upgrade) on my G3 800mhz ibook. my concern is that there are 3 install CDs but my ibook only used 2 and and then restarted back to Finder. Is the 3rd disk only for a Full install and does the upgrade only require 2 disks? Or even worse, did i mess up!? I opened aps up and they seemed to run fine. infact they ran a bit better and cleaner, but should the 3rd disk have been run? The installer never asked for a 3rd disk so i assumed that everything is ok. Any advice?

No, the third disc didn't have to be used.

Only 2.

The third is full of accessories.

You could put the third disc in and find out. Just a thought.

The 3rd disk would be needed for X11 support, but not much else I think. If you didn't do a custom install, it probably wouldn't be used.

Just insert the CD and take a look at the contents.

there are additional printer drivers, etc on the third disk.

if everything's working, you don't need it!

GREAT! thank you all for the great input. I was also aware on on the firewall that you fix using the Terminal for those of you who dont know its on the forums. So if you are having trouble getting to your firewall check that out. Once again, ill just take a look at that 3rd cd.
