Hi there. I'm running Mac OS 9.04 on a G4/400. I recently began getting an error message on start-up (complete with the "bomb" graphic) the states "Not enough memory available while using sound manager." It then asks me to restart or shut down. I have also received this message in regards to Mac Easy open.
I have 192 megs of ram, so I'm assuming this is not actually a memory problem. When I disable these extensions everything works fine. I was content with this workaround, but have recently downloaded iMovie. When I try to open it, I get the message "iMovie cannot be opened because SoundLib-Sound ConverterSet Info" is missing."
I'm curious if this is related to the Sound Manager extension problem.
I've tried reinstalling iMovie and the system software (not a clean install however), and just installed the latest version of Quicktime. Nothing seems to help.
Any suggestions? I obviously know very little about troubleshoooting my mac, and any help you could give would be wonderful! Thanks in advance.
Amy
