Does anyone know if it is possible to connect an imac with a macbook pro to have one big screen rather than buying a apple display as well to go with imac?

Screen Recycler, or another VNC-based product, has two limitations: The iMac must work (a lot of people seem to want to use iMacs with dead logic boards or no hard drive as a second screen) and the second screen will be lagged, since it's transferring over the network.

If your iMac works you could sell it and probably net enough cash to buy the same size or larger LCD. If it doesn't work you're SOL either way.
