Yes, this topic is covered umpteen times, but I wanted a more specific indication of the Rev.B's processing power before taking the plunge. Could a budding MP3 encoder who uses lame let me know what the "play/CPU" speed hovers around using the following command in the Terminal on the 12":

lame --alt-preset standard <filename>.wav

Those of you who regularly like to preach that such tests provide no useful benchmark, please refrain; stick to comparing xbench scores. MP3 encoding generally uses most of the processor, and being a multi-platform application, lame should provide a fairly universal benchmark for cpu performance.
