Hello,
My girlfriend's ibook is being weird. When it is not plugged into the ac adapter it will shut down and will not boot. When you press the battery charge measurer unit button it claims full charge. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried resetting the power manager? Depending on the model, there are different ways to do it, but one of the things I did was 1) reset power manager 2) remove battery 3) remove AC power 4) power on iBook. The 4 steps might actually be part of the same thing (resetting the PM).
I would probably reset the PRAM too. Just because. (Control-Option-P-R from a cold boot, i.e. the machine was off, not a restart. You should hear the boot chime once, then twice, then three times as you hold down the keys, then release them and you'll boot normally if all goes well.)
How old is the machine? Which model/speed/etc?
