Hardware
Upgrade vendor OWC has its semi-regular
garage sale going on. Highlights of this offering include a USB 3.0 SATA enclosure that OWC has "shucked" the drive out of for
$1.75, and the LaCie Thunderbolt to eSATA hub for $129. Seriously, there's like 300 items on the list.
Go look!
Friday August 1 only, Best Buy has the
16GB Apple iPad Air with Wi-Fi for $399, a full $100 off retail. Sure, Apple probably has new iPads coming out in two months, but this is the iPad Air for iPad fourth generation money. The offer is good either online or in stores.
In the market for an inexpensive Windows laptop for back to school? Dell has the 2013 Bay Trail-powered 2.16Ghz Celeron
Dell Inspiron 15 with 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive for $230, after application of coupon code "J?3LPF9MCSDLT?" Shipping is free.
While not a fantastic deal at the register, Kmart has the Samsung seven-inch
8GB Galaxy Tab 3 Lite for $140, with free in-store pickup. This is close to the lowest price we could find on this, but the addition for $51.40 in "shop your way" reward points with purchase at Sears of Kmart makes it an excellent deal for those enrolled in that program. We confirmed this deal by purchasing one earlier today and picking it up in-store, but the extra point reward may be a very limited time offer and isn't available on-line.
Until August 4, Turtle Beach is selling its i30 and i60 headset line for $100 off. The
i60 is now $299, marked down from $399, with the
i30 selling for $199.
Software
Ostensibly Amazon is having an app sale to "improve your life." So, as part of that effort, the company is offering
30 free Android apps from its app store, which confusingly includes Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, and Carcassonne. While a good deal, how do the games apply towards the goal?
App developer Readdle has turned seven years old! To celebrate that, the developer is offering up to 70 percent off of all its apps.
Scanner Pro is now $3, and used to be $7.
PDF Expert 5 has been cut 50 percent to $5, from $10. Printer Pro for
iPad and
iPhone are now $3 each, down from $7 and $5 respectively.
Speaking of Amazon, the funny money for the app store are "Amazon Coins." Today, Amazon has a special for $100 worth of the digital currency for
$75. Get the currency cheaper, take advantage of sales, and add to your savings!
