Happy Birthday iPod (yesterday, November 10th 2001).
$399 got you a 5GB hard drive with space for 1000 songs.
and the 'iPod Classic' is still around, $249 for 160GB / 40,000 songs.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

I still have my original 5GB sitting in my closet. The battery no longer holds a charge though.

I got mine in Japan shortly after it came out for an early Christmas present. It was pretty darned cool at the time, but it looks like something out of the dark ages now, doesn't it?

Mine still makes me smile.
It's still cool, and I remember what it felt like back in the day.

I got a new battery and replaced it (not too hard) a few years ago, and mine is still chugging. It has been dropped a few times and the headphone jack is a little fussy though. Screen is still good, and Iike the sensory input so you know you've clicked/scrolled.
