Mail.app is not searching when I entered some text to search in the search field. Any ideas? I already rebuilt my mailboxes so I don't know what else to do. It is kind of annoying when you cannot find the e-mail that you are looking for. Thanks.

Mine has been doing the same thing on my Macbook for maybe a week or two, but not my Macbook Pro. Haven't found a solution yet, but seen some others mention it.

Damn, I was hoping someone would reply how to fix it, cause mine is still broken. I can do a search for "Jeff" and even though there are about 15 emails today from Jeff, it doesn't find anything.

Mail searching in Tiger is based on the Spotlight index, so if you've turned Spotlight off you won't get any searching.

Spotlight is on, and works everywhere else.

This problem has been going on for ages. I keep having the same issue. The only answer I have found is to re-index my HD with spotlight. It works for a while then packs up again.

I am sure Apple knows about this. Hopefully they may get round to fixing it.
