NEVER!!
Can't tell.. I've never had the pleasure of eating Mario's pizza. I'm sure it's good. One of the best pizzas I've had was made by Albanians. Damn fine pizza.
If you really want to find out how bad Italian food really is, there is no alternative except to go to Italy and have a pizza at an Italian restaurant. It will be a huge disappointment.
There is a lot of myth going on about Italian food, the biggest one being that it is actually good in Italy or that Italians are the ones who know how to make it.
Americans of Italian decent are probably the masters of Italian food.
Italians are the Afghans of Italian food.

And what do you call a person who thinks 'Italian' food is what people eat in Italy? What the world considers Italian food comes all from the USA.

The best pizzas ever are actually made in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England.
And this is someone who used to live with an Italian chick (whose parents were both chefs) telling you that.

They'd be mistaken, though.

Hmm, I've been to Italy about 30 times - no, I can't share that experience, sorry!
What kind of American pizza are you talking about? Domino's or Pizza Hut style?
That's good/ok but not my prefered kind!

New York or Chicago.
And independant resturants. The franchises suck.

No brand or trade mark pizza, just like Sky Captain says: the franchises suck. American pizza style is with thicker bread, lots of cheese, crisp and fresh vegetables and pizza sauce that is actually not so sugary.

If Icelanders don't consider you sane, then you have serious issues.

It was all improved upon in the US and made good. Much like Chinese, Mexican and a number of other 'ethnic' food.
Actual Italian food isn't very good, but with the right attitude and American influence it can be very good.

Wow, this thread has gone nicely off-topic...
