Hi all,

Can anybody tell me how I can take a screenshot of my desktop on a Powerbook?

Thanks.

Shift-Command-3 takes a screenshot of the whole screen (both if you have 2 displays)
Shift-Command-4 gives up a crosshair with which you can drag a selection to take a shot of.
Shift-Command-4 then release those buttons & press space gives you a camera icon. This is used to take a picture of a window from an application. (very cool).

The screenshots will be put on your desktop (called Picture1 etc) as pdf files.

If this doesn't work, go to System Preferences>Keyboard&Mouse>Keyboard Shortcuts and there is a section called Screen Capture - make sure these are all checked.

If you hold ctrl with any of the above keystrokes the image will be captured to the clipboard instead of to a file on your desktop.

Happy screen capturing.

I copied out the help for some keys, printed it, then
taped it to my monitor. Including the astonishing
key sequence control-command-option 8 (mash 8)
which switches to white on black, so at last I can
read the arstechnica.com website, which is annoyingly
white on block, and mash8 reverses it.
a penny here a penny there, pretty soon you're talking two cents
