i own a mac g4 (800 mhz 40 gb) running 10.2.8... i need to upgrade to at least 10.3.9

since i only have a cd optical drive (no DVD) what's the best way of installing a new os?
can my friend slave his powerbook w/ 10.3 to my tower?
how then do i get it up to 10.3.9?
is there a free upgrade from 10.3 to 10.3.9?
thanks everyoned and happy new year

You can order Tiger on CDs directly from Apple if you want. I wouldn't bother upgrading if not to Tiger. I don't know what you mean by "slave his PowerBook to your tower," but getting 10.3 from your friend would be illegal.

All the 3rd-decimal-place updates are free.
