Am i ****ed? Think it was in 90 minutes, youd think it was ****ed but my gadgets always find a way to survive.

any tips? anyone heard of "surviving" ipods?

can i open it to get it dryer? it has stopped coming water out of the thingy now though.

can it be fixed by sending it in?

You're probably ****ed.

But, to maximize your chances: Do not turn it on until it is 100% dry. I would not use a hairdryer, just let it dry out naturally.

Yup, don't turn it on until it's 100% dry. Maybe give it a week, just to be sure?
A friend of mine had his Nano go thru the laundry wash AND dryer... and it came out fine.

cool, thanks for the advice guys. even though my brother might have tried to put it on (he pushed the button) i'll wait some days just to see.

could it be repaired by professionals, though? i guess everything would have to be replaced...:s

Not really, nothing would need to be replaced unless something is damaged. Just wait about a week and don't let anyone touch it. If it doesn't work when dry then we can talk about that when It gets there. Best circumstances would be the ipod dries out it will turn right on and you can resume listening to your tunes.

okay guys!

tried today, turned off hold and pressed play. nothing happens.
plugged in the usb2 cable, works just fine, as long as i had the plug in when turning it on.

i can even unplug the usb and take it with me to play, so it seems halfway okay.

however, i cant start it without using the cable. i guess since i can wear it without the usb cable it cant be the battery thats ****ed.

any ideas? might a firmware update/reinstall work? thanks.

I bought a Nano off a guy for $25 because he ran it through the wash and didn't know to let it dry. By the time it got to me, it worked great!!!

Wow... 90 minutes in the wash and it still worked? Amazing.

What the heck were you washing that took an hour and a half?

I've got another iPod horror story. My three month old 30gig ipod video went for a swim in a cup in March. It was immersed for a good 5 minutes before I noticed. I dried it with a hair dryer for about 10 hours (on a cool setting), then it spent the next three weeks at a friends on his heater. After this I turned it on, and all the functions worked for about 10 minutes (only when plugged in). I figure my battery's shot, but now it won't turn on. My advice from every techie I've spoken to is to get the water out of the screen before I try sending it off to Apple.... Any suggestions as to how to do that? Should I deliberately put it in the dryer for a while?

I accidently dropped my shuffle in the toilet (don't laugh) and after giving it a chance to dry out it seems to work fine.

Nano finally works but the screen does not have backlight any more.

Every thing else seems fine.

Maybe the screen needs longer to dry out.

I think iPods are "dry clean only"
