"twice as fast" to "half the price."

I hope he means the new quad iMac.

iWork updates weren't even worth mention. Keynote remote if anything. The Mac Box set is dumb so close to the release of Snow Leopard.

BTW, if you're not deathly afraid of the level of detail he could go to about Snow Leopard, you're not paying attention.

I'm complaining because I just bought a new laptop based on Apple's new "no anti-glare" bullsh*t policy.

I'm assuming it's not a 17", and this is 17" only, though. Can't be that sick a burn.

I just don't understand why they were so adamant on sticking to their "glossy" screen, and then screw us with the option on the 17". That's horsesh*t.

If they can get, or claim to get, 8 hours out of a 17" MacBook Pro I'll wait to upgrade my MacBook until they put that battery technology in it.

Non-removable battery. Hmm..

The thing is that I own over a dozen of Mac laptops over the years. Only 2 of them I had a second backup battery. Still, not having a removable battery makes me a little hesitant.

17" MacBook Pro. Treat it as a desktop replacement. Basically an iMac with a built-in keyboard and UPS, that you can lugged around easily.

Hmmm... I guess I'm not shopping on iTunes until April. I've got $100 in iTunes gift certificates to spend too.

Was hoping for a new Mac Mini, AppleTV, or new Time Capsule.

Now we know why Steve Jobs bowed out of this keynote. He didn't want to be there in case the audience starting throwing stuff* at him.

Not much to bitch about... it was just 100% boring.

No DRM is nice, but we've seen the writing on the wall on that for a while now. 17" MacBook is a snoozer... iWork and iLife = iWhoCares.

What else was there? Tiered pricing? Big whoop.

The mac mini is so out of date and overpriced that it's almost farcical at this point.

I could use a new second computer and something like a Mini would fit the bill perfectly, but I sure as f*** am not gonna buy what they are offering now. $799 to get the one with a DVD burner? Are you kidding me? With those specs?

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

I think Engadget summed it up nicely:

"Well that's it folks -- no Steve, no iPhone nano, no new Mini, no new iMac, no shockers, no surprises. We're off to the floor... but hey, Tony Bennett is incredibly smooth. And that's something, right?"

That's exactly what I was thinking. +Apple wants to walk away from MacWorld - it looks like they're running.

So the sign off songs were "The best is yet to come" and "I left my heart in San Francisco"... hmmm so there's better stuff to come after this, and their heart isn't in the Macworld Expo.

The homepage is updated now, and is it just me or is the iTunes "High Quality music..." feature (its on rotation with iWork, 17" MBP and iLife/iWork) the most text heavy Apple homepage in a good long while?!?!

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

It doesn't make much sense for Apple to force itself into a position where new products can only be announced twice a year (MW & WWDC) and I think it's a great move to do away with the trade show event product cycle. Apple's own special events get as much press/publicity as these trade shows anyway.

If Apple isn't going to do trade shows anymore it would make a lot of sense to have a special event within a couple months to introduce a number of products, basically a MacWorld level of event without all the extra costs and time constraints.
