Apple has posted a recording of today's media event in San Jose, California, where chief executive Tim Cook and marketing senior vice president Phil Schiller shared the stage to introduce the iPad mini. Other new products unveiled at the event include the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro, new iMacs, a refreshed full-size iPad and an improved Mac mini.

Following in the tradition of earlier device introductions, Apple has also published a promotional video featuring design executives Jony Ive and Dan Riccio. The commercial compares the smaller iPad beside its larger counterparts, highlighting its aluminum construction and other hardware details. Both videos are posted on Apple's iPad mini page.

No retina display?! They put a retina display in the iPad but not the iPad mini?

And they still want a whopping $329 for the "mini" - no way, that's ridiculous. I wouldn't pay more than $199 for that, and $299 if it had a retina display.

So you think the iPad mini is worth what Amazon is charging for their Kindle Fire, which makes them equivalent?

Oh-kayyyy…

While Amazon is actually taking a LOSS on every Kindle Fire they sell?

Oh-KAYYYYYY…

I'm sure Apple won't be crying over their lost business opportunity selling to you.

Or we could just go invent "an iPod, a phone, and an internet communication device" for $499.

My point: It's overpriced.
