LG has revealed its revamped 27-inch
Personal Smart TV MT93. As with the original, the device supports PC inputs over HDMI allowing it to do double duty as both a monitor and TV in rooms where space is at a premium. While
the original sported a chrome/silver bezel, the new model sports an ultrathin black bezel while it also incorporates a redesigned stand.
The panel continues with IPS technology for wide viewing angles and color accuracy and retains a 1080p resolution. It also supports 3D viewing (glasses sold separately) and picture-in-picture capability so users can work on their PC and watch TV simultaneously. It is rated at 250nit brightness and response time is 5ms. Wi-Di is also built-in as is Miracast technology for throwing content to the display from notebooks or smartphones wirelessly.
Connectivity also includes 2 HDMI ports (MHL ready) as well as composite and component inputs. Three USB ports are included with support for external media and a keyboard and mouse for using the TV alone to surf the Internet. The Personal Smart TV also incorporates two 7W speakers and comes with LG's Magic Remote. And of course, full smart TV functionality, including app support is also built-in.
The LG 27-inch Personal Smart TV will go on sale later this month, although US pricing has yet to be detailed.
