I'm having a strange problem with iChatAV, and wanted to see if anyone else has observed similar behavior. I am no longer able to stay connected to iChat. I sign in, and then after a couple seconds I get disconnected. If I try to sign in again, I get an error saying that I've tried to sign in too many times. Odd.
Things I've done to try and fix it:
Deleted all iChatAV .plist files
Deleted all the caches, system-wide
Ran all CRON scripts
Ran PreBind script
Fixed Permissions
Nothing fixed it.
Any ideas?

it happened to me sporadically before, but just now after i restarted it won't let me on at all -- keeps me online for a few seconds and then disconnects me, and after a few times it tells me i've tried too many times, just as you described. i guess their excuse is that it's a beta and allowed to do these things...

My iChat will disconnect as well, except I never receive the message you all are getting about trying to connect too many times. Usually, I'll hear it disconnect and then hear it reconnecting, it can be a little annoying. I've also been running into cases of hearing IMs come in, but I can't see anything. Then when I quit iChat I get a window saying I have unviewed messages, and when I press review, I never see anything. Strange indeed.

Has anyone found a fix or a cause for this?
I can use iChatAV with no problem from my wired machine, but when I try to use my Tibook over airport, I disconnect almost immediately. I connect, and it immediately disconnects. Weird.

For anyone with this problem, I deleted the ichatagentplist file. That seemed to work-
hope this helps someone-
