Just bought a new 15" PB ( yay! ), and after opening System Preferences I noticed the "Hardware" preference pane. By default, the L2 Cache was set to None, so I set it to 512. Well after closing preferences and then later opening them back up, it's set back to None again. I can't seem to get it to stay at 512. Apple's website says that my PB has 512 L2 cache, and I would certainly like to use it if it's there, but why won't the settings stick? What am I doing wrong?

Same thing happened to me after I upgraded my graphics card. Did yours come with the ATI 9700? This might be the reason.

There's a newer version of the utility that fixes this bug. It's the CHUD tools, I think. Check Apple's site, the problem's been discussed in the forums on there.
