Does anyone know a program that will batch export the contents of the LiveJournal to disk? The internal exporter offered on LJ.com only allows you to do it month by month, which would be a big pain.

Thanks! That worked. These files are in XML format, right? It's not immediately clear.

I get the error "No such file or directory: 'ljdump.config'" I did make a copy of the config file and removed the sample bit so that file should exist. Is there a special command I should be typing or should "python ljdump.py" be enough or is there a special directory I should be doing this from?

I use xJournal and it can export the entire contents of your LJ into, well, a .plist (XML) file, which may or may not be useful to you. But the app has a good History viewer to look at the file with.

Run it from within the directory ljdump is stored in. Use cd to navigate there.

you might want to check out

http://www.ljbook.com/

which exports your LJ to a pdf format book.
