I need some suggestions on moving hosting from one server to another while limiting downtime of an active domain.

I have 1 primary domain and 4 synonym domains hosted which i want to move to new hosting, but the primary domain is in daily use, and I can not afford downtime while the DNS is moved from one server to another.

I have a plan like this, please let me know what you guys think:

I can create all new DNS entries in the new hosting which point back to the original IP address (current hosting provider) and then migrate the DNS to the new hosting. Since the DNS entries will be pointing to the existing hosting IP address it should have no downtime during the DNS migration.

Next step I can set the TTL of the DNS in the new hosting to 10 minutes, once all the data is migrated, I could simply change the DNS to the new IP address and all the changes would take effect within the next 10 minute cycle. Then I could reset the DNS TTL back to its original values.

How does this sound?
