Well, this is kind of interesting. Google is functioning normally for me, but if you search for sogo search in Google you get a listing that points to google.com.net. The actual domain name for sogo search is sogosearch.com, and it is registered to a Gregg Squires through Godaddy. Maybe it's some weird gimmicky rebranding of Google that was handled improperly.

It's a DNS poisoning attack. Your ISP needs to fix their DNS servers.

Until your ISP gets their act together, try:

Is this a case of DNS poisoning alone or poisoning coupled with a misconfiguration on Google's end? Here's a link to a page discussing the issue; a quotation from the company make it sound like it was at least partially Google's fault.

Concerning the URL issue I referred to previously, it appears that Sogo Search owns the domain com.net. They cleverly placed their search engine on the second level domain google.com.net, making it appear that this was some sort of google page at first glance - even to me. The thing that concerns me more is that so many DNS servers were poisoned. DNS poisoning may be the most serious security threat to the Internet, yet few people seem to be concerned.

I thought his browser was Hijacked. Is he using IE on a PC?

If so, you have some parasites to clean out.
