My friend has an iMac DV SE with OS X 10.2 installed. He said that he was using it when it froze up. He automatically restarted it but now whenever he tries to launch any programs the program crashes with the "Unexpected Error" message. System Preferances opens but it won't do anything. He has tried to re-format his hard drive but it says that it doesn't recognize the drive. He has even tried booting from the OS 9 disc and using the 'C' key. Same thing.

Anybody have any suggestions. Could it be a virus?

Thanks.

Ian

Seem you need to repair the premissions (search here to find how).

Did he make an "Archive and Install"? Check the 'open with' for older versions of apps...

Well you could boot into single user mode and try the fsck- command thingy.

I'm not sure how to do that though, never have had to.
Good luck though mate
