Politicians say a lot of stupid crap to get the popular vote of stupid people. Most of our founding forefathers also thought the bible was rubbish (and they were against the idea of a 2 party system).

Ben must have been trying to get your vote.
Most of our founding forefathers also thought the bible was rubbish (and they were against the idea of a 2 party system).
I've seen both sides of the argument. No one has a monopoly on the truth either way.

this was an inaugural address, not a campaign speech. Furthermore, it was on his 2nd term. Which, though there were no laws against 3 terms, it was unlikely that he would have ran again.

In other words, he was able to more freely speak his mind than at any other point in his career. However, he was just a "f***ing retard", what did he know?

As for most thinking the Bible was rubbish, most were Freemasons. Do you understand what a Freemason's beliefs are?

doesn't seem that any real discussion of the issue is going on in this thread. and the animosity stirred up by this topic makes me believe it'll remain that way. so.....
