Hi all,

just wondering if many of you guys on here own any AAPL stock? Personally I own a bit, bought it at around $67 (rather late i know). Was just wondering if you guys owned any and what you were planning on doing with it? The share price has taken a bit of a hammering in recent weeks, dropping a few percentage points on a daily basis Has anybody sold or considering selling up? I know we all believe Apple will pick up and win through but I am getting a bit disheartened by the fact that Apple's share price seems so easily manipulated by random unproven rumours these days. Particularly Microsoft's so called 'iPod Killer' amongst others.

Cheers

Rob

I plan to let the price keep dropping and buy shortly before WWDC.

Well that is kinda obvious! It's not like I want too, was just wondering what other people were planning on doing! Perhaps its a case of mitigating losses....

I've got a share. I bought it several years ago, around $20. Only problem is, I've only got one share, purchased through OneShare.com. Now I kind of wish I'd bought more. I'm strongly considering selling this share all the same, but I could have gotten a lot more out of the deal.

I've got some, and I've lost a few percent since buying it.

I wanted to buy when it was around $20 before the split, but didn't have the extra cash at the time.

I'm not the best at this kind of thing, but if I had AAPL right now I'd dump the lot and pump it all into XOM. The Intel thing would make me uneasy.

I got in at $57. It's down 4.3% but I'm not worried one bit. Apple has a very promising future I believe.

I've got a few shares, but I bought in at $65 so it's down a bit for me. I'm not in it for the quick cash, though, so I haven't thought about selling. Besides, I have a feeling that it'll be going back up.

All glory to the hypnotoad.

I find it hard to buy it at 30 times earnings....there are an awful lot of expectations embedded in the price.

Indeed, but then, that's what I said when it was much lower.

I've come to the conclusion that the market makes little logical sense.

I've got probably around 70 shares or so... bought them back in the late 90's, relatively cheap.

It's because an analyst expects their 4th quarter sales to be less as they move out the old ipods to prep for a new model. I expect it to go back up after WWDC assuming it isn't a huge letdown. Good time to do some dollar cost averaging. Buy a bunch at the low price, then your average purchase price per share drops. Assuming you bought at higher than $53 of course.

The wife and I bought at $13, sold at $77 (pre-split of 2005): after taxes, we had enough for a down payment for our first house--and a new Powerbook for her.

I'm one for one--now I'm done.

Like I said, buy it all just before it goes through the roof once everybody sees what they roll out at WWDC.

Bought 20 shares just for the heck of it at $71. Definitely my worst "investment" so far, but I don't need the money so I'll probably keep them for several years.

Let's at least hope AAPL will follow the same pattern as the past two years, ie that it starts slow and then picks up during the late summer/fall.

Once Apple clears the legal issues, the stock is expected to soar to 70 by near year's end.

I told my dad, years back, to buy when it was at $14, pre-split.

I continuously rub that one in his face.

I bought in at 36, so in reality I'm still at a decent gain. I do hope it does go back up - I'm thinking of buying more in between qtry earnings this month and WWDC.

I will wait before WWDC to buy some Apple stock. I think it is making the stock a fairer value than before.

I know how you feel! I'm in the same situation though so I guess I'll just hold onto them and hope it goes past that in a couple of years. Still, $50 dollars as of today is a massive drop compared to a few months ago!

WWDC bringing prices UP?

Are you crazy? This is AAPL! Good news always causes the stock to crash due to the "not living up to expectations" problem Apple has... Perhaps this has changed in recent years as Apple's gotten more corporate, but I don't think so. Just look at the front page of Apple Turns for proof (That's really old now, but still holds true)

Well, since the beta of AAPL is 1.5, on average, based on montly returns, for every 1% down the market goes, AAPL will go down 1.5%. Of course, that works in the opposite direction as well.

Unbelievable! After weeks of the share price diving to new depths following analyst 'opinion,' it is suddenly back up big time! A whopping 12+% following a great earnings report. Lets hope it can continue this and go out on a high with some great new products.

In all seriousness, I do hope those driving up AAPL aren't expecting an iPhone at WWDC.

Still, it may be prudent for me to wait two weeks before ordering that Sony Ericsson K790a.
(It won't be hard to wait... since the phone isn't out yet.)

Cashed out half my shares (about 250) at $65 when it started to drop a few months back and bought back my position at $54 last week in anticipation of good things to come in August.

I've been sitting on my position (around $8) never taking advantage of the skyrocketing growtch and am determined to make sure I don't let that go by again...

I was planning on getting many shares back when it hit 50. I've never done any stock crap before so it's all new to me (recommend any brokers or manage it yourself services?). I knew it would go up after their earnings announcement. Basically any time Apple makes something I find a good value or something I really want (in this case the Macbook) they report great earnings the next quarter. However, I didn't expect it to reach its current price so quickly and I'm really kicking myself now.
Genius. You know who.

I bought a small bunch at $30, and a larger bunch at $71. (Whoops, should have cashed out at $85!) I'm not too concerned. I'm in for the long haul.

Now > $68.

I don't understand why there was such a jump today though.
