I called the store to enquire and they said 'we are crippled by demand, there is a backlog'. Who knows what that translates into with respect to delivery times.

I ordered my 15 yesterday at about 10 a.m. PST. My original configuration was 128 MB of VRAM, a 512 MB Single DIMM, the 5400 RPM HD option, and FCE preinstalled. My shipping estimate was 5-7 business days. I deleted the FCE option and the estimate dropped to 3-5 business days. I went ahead and placed my order, minus FCE (I can get it for the same price later anyway.)

As of 10:00 a.m. PST, 4/20/04 the estimated ship date is 4/26 rather on or before 4/26. I paid extra for expedited shipping; Im just hoping to see it by the end of the week.

Yea, I ordered mine the same time, same setup, but mine hasn't shipped yet. I hope that mine will ship today or tommorow so I can get it before the start of next week.

Because I'm addicted (as may be evident in my sig.)

That, and I got a price I couldn't refuse.

I am a starving college student, so I probably shouldn't be working out my credit card this hard, as I just got my AlBook the first week of March. This one has been great to me, but the faster processor and video card are what got me to seriously consider the new book. The 4x DVD-R kinda sealed the deal.

Also, this 1.25 AlBook has a couple of light spots on the screen and a loose hinge, so the new machine will allow me to get those things taken care of before I have to sell it. No downtime at the end of the semester is a good thing. Rather, having two laptops prevents "oh darns" at the end of a semester.
