Does anyone like/dislike their mac.com email address? What are it's flaws? Is there webmail or can you only use it on your own computer with your eudora, outlook, outlook express, entourage, etc configured as such?

Outdoes my At&t email address and my Mediaone address. Always snappy and up. Plus its easy as hell to remember.
I'd change fully to it.....but I'm to lazy to change everything aroud to go to my mac e-mail.

never had any problems..... and it's very cool. In fact...the whole iTools stuff is great consumer thinking.

The best thing about it is there are still good ones left. Try getting an address on yahoo.com that doesn't require five digits in it. I set up my whole fam about 6 months ago and they all got a nice one, some even got their first name.

Mac.com is wonderful! I use mine as my main address, and it's really a joy. I love mac.com. I just am concerned about keeping it as spam free as possible, so I usually only give it out to personal contacts, using a different forward for less important mail. (And, no, it's not [email protected].)

Wow, I have never heard of iloveapple.com, that is a very neat idea.
On the topic note, I love my mac.com account. I have two, and one of them gets some spam I must have signed up for some dishonest company and I got my name sold out, grr.
My other mac.com e-mail, my MAIN one that has my name and everything in it (very professional), doesn't get spam... should it begin to get spam, I don't know what I would do... it's so perfect as of now.

I have several email addresses, but I forward all of them to mac.com, and use that as the only account on my work and home computers. The only time there's been a problem is when the mac.com servers are down, but that doesn't happen all that often, and they're usually up again fairly soon.

Same here (They didn't allow non US residents to have one at first, so I used Apples 1 Infinite Loop street Address to register).
Since I signed up I have had about 3 ISP's so being able to keep a steady mail address (thats not a unprofesinal looking hotmail account) has been fantastic.

It's a great email-address, and I was lucky to roll-in
from the beginning, allowing me to have my first name as my email
account-name : [email protected]
I use it for years as my primary mail-address,
and yes, it's very easy to POP from whatever provider you have.
(just select mail.mac.com as incoming mailserver and your isp's
outgoing mailserver as outgoing mail; you can additionally select "leave copy of mail on server" in e.g. Outlook to keep your mails readable from
other accounts too, or indeed do it via iTools, or web-based iloveapple.com)
Also: their 3MB mailsize and 5 MB mailbox is much bigger than eg. hotmail
or so..
Never had any server problems, it delivers mail very fast, and is a very easy to remember address too ;-)
Go for it ..

well, I guess I'm in the minority here as to pleasure with the iloveapple site for getting my e-mail.... just tried it and the open or delete are soooooooooooooooooo slow compared with my yahoo/msn or eudora which are instantaneous....... I have a cable connection and all other sites connect really fast so the slowness at command responses seem to be at the Iloveapple site only....
anyone else experiencing this ?

I love it too, I have it since the bigining and the only problem i had with it was last august (I think apple was changing their server).
I don't use iloveapple.com to get my mail when I'm abroad, i use my iBook
Otherwise, you can create a pop address in hotmail !
iTool is cool ain't it ?

I just started using my Mac.com email exclusively when Purdue's bastard IT Dept. cut off every offcampus person (student and faculty) from using their SMTP servers. Now I just have everything forward to the Mac.com account.
Purdue really does suck. Don't go there. I wish I didn't

i love my mac.com email for a couple reasons.
1. itools. great for hosting pictures to link, files to share, etc.
2. its short! i guess email.com or hotmail.com isnt THAT much longer but...
3. its mac related
