Yeah, it's the best available, but it still doesn't feel right to me. The symbols look wrong somehow.. I think they should be "glowing" more. Ohwell..

Turn off the fog. Set it to none in the Settings. That seems to make it brighter, and I like it a lot better that way.

Get Xirtam, it's at least somewhat more authentic.

I think this belongs in third party software, anyways.

I prefer my "Matrix" screensaver rather than Xirtam or Red pill...I find it's nicer.

Thanks for the tip. I'm using it now. The code "flows" much better on my PowerBook and doesn't choke or hesitate like the Red Pill screen saver.

Get it HERE

To turn off the zooming set the Velocity slider all the way down to the left. I like mine almost all the way down so you don't notice the zooming, but the code strips don't draw over the same place all the time.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Long ago I downloaded a screensaver called Matrix. I think it was ported from linux, not sure...it's called "Matrix" and I don't remember where I got it from, but I prefer it over Xirtam and Red Pill.

I used to have a shell screensaver that was truly authenticate to the matrix's "code". Now I've got this.

from the read me with what i'm guessing is Dace's screensaver, which i have also:

Copyright (c) 2001 Brent Neal
Based on xmatrix, (c) 1999 Jamie Zawinski

This MacOS X screensaver is based on xmatrix, the xscreensaver hack. I
had xmatrix as my LinuxPPC screensaver for as long as Linux was
installed on my machine, and thus when I dumped LinuxPPC for OS X, I
wanted to bring xmatrix along with me. So, I lifted the logic and the
glyphs from Jamie's code, and marched merrily along with no clue about
what I was doing.

Ok, I found the "Matrix" screensaver at Mac OS X Apps. The direct link is here, that will take you to the developer's "website".

In Soviet Russia, the pill takes YOU.

Ok, now that THAT joke is done with. Its a nice screen saver that runs well on a whole bunch of Macs around here. Best of all. FREE.

I left the new one running over night as I always do (pass lock) and when I woke up and tried to log in I couldn't. The log-in box wouldn't appear.

I had to force reboot my system via the tower power button, Frankensteined 8600.

The previous one didn't have this problem, I guess all the extra lines over taxed something but I had it turned down to like 50%.

Oh well, I got tired of it anyways.

That's what I thought too.... I used to have it a long time aga, but I chucked it when I got Xirtam because they seemed identical looking except for the prefs. The RedPill one makes them both look like their 15 years old though.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

It looks better than Xirtam... Xirtam just shows a bunch of numbers that end up displaying a phone number over and over again, plus the glyphs are big and ugly. Matrix displays a shower of numbers and you have the option of selecting smaller glyphs. Red Pill is nice, but I hate it's zooming effect.

the phone numer in option can be disabled via the preferences as well as the glyph size.
you can turn the zoom off in red pill by sliding velocity all the way to the left

Ah, IC...thanks, but I still prefer either Matrix or Xirtam since they make it look like my computer is going haywire. Red Pill doesn't do that for me. Hope that makes sense.
