Is there a name for those oval stickers that are white with black ink that people have on the back of their cars to say where they have been?

I want to get some custom ones, where are some good sticker places online that do them?

they are a take off on the european country stickers that were put on the back of cars before the new plates that came in somewhere around '99

try "euro style" or some iteration of that.

EDIT: yup.

They're not to say where you've been, but to say where you're from. I think it's still law when driving in Europe, if you don't have a number plate with it written on, to display your country of origin on one.

And hence it'd be breaking the law if (say) I put a France one on my car.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

in the states though, they are often sold in novelty shops at tourist destinations. kinda funny and sad somehow that the "joke" is totally lost on so many.

You can buy some sticky inkjet or laserprinter paper and make them yourself. Of course you'll have to cut them all out. It'd be a lot cheaper, though.

Nope you don't need it anymore, even when you don't have a euro plate. Belgium for example hasn't the little blue part on the plates. We are waiting for the real European plate. But the stickers aren't obligatory anymore.

And you can put an F on your car, you see this once in a while. People who are say, Dutch, and they have an F on their car.

I for one am glad you don't need to do it anymore. I HATE stickers on my car, I really hate the swiss stickers which are obligatory.

I can get you a deal if you'd like. My father's company prints them. I'd watch out for companies that advertise no minimums. There stickers are often digitally printed and therefore of much lower quality than screen printed stickers.
