Guys and Gals.

I'm looking for a Mac Pro with at least the following specs:

2x 2.66 CPUs
5GB RAM
1.75TB HDD (1x 250GB + 2x 750GB)
Wireless Pack (BT and WIFI)
Video Card doesn't matter (standard GeForce 7330GT will do)

If I bought this system new, I'd have to pay the following:

- Mac Pro, Standard Config incl. Wireless Pack: $2372
- 4GB RAM at Crucial: $395,99
- 2x 750GB SATA Western Digital: $180 a piece (=$360)

= $3200,- give or take

Is anybody selling a setup like the above for at least $300 less?
What's your advice? Don't bother and buy "new"?

Let me know.
Torsten

Yeah, don't bother. Just buy it new. When you're spending that kind of dough, a few hundred isn't worth getting a used machine with a shorter warranty, and the questions about if everything is tip-top or not.

I'm trying to turn my Apple Store credit into cash... so maybe we can work something out. I've got enough to purchase Mac Pro brand new from the online store and have it shipped directly to you. So maybe we can work something out.

Just curious, your calculations on the Mac pro at $2372, where is that from? The education store or something?

Hi chipchen.

The price is from the Apple "Partner" store. Apple runs my companies ERP Software, so we get a bit of a discount. I guess it's very similar to the Education Store.

I'll be fishing around some more. ExperCom had some very attractive prices recently on the new iMacs. Maybe they'll have something on the Mac Pros also in the near future? I very much appreciate your offer! I'm looking at buying it around Thanksgiving. So, in case I will, I'll PM you!

Thanks for your replies.
