Edit: Tiffer, what's that thing across the bottom with the iTunes info? I never saw one that spanned the whole screen. Is it click-throughable so you can click the Dock?

It's called Growl. It just pops up for about 5 seconds whenever a new track comes on in iTunes.

trying our snapshooter for the first time. quite handy. in fact this is the first screenshot created without photoshop.

Make it easier for him. Press Command+Shift+4, press SPACE and hover over the icon. Click to create a PNG file of just the icon and text.

Try it! I love it! Works in the Dock too, you can take a shot of just the icons, or the dock, or individual menu extras or icons or windows or well, you get the idea.

Works only on desktop. In folders, icons are part of the window.

Any idea where I can find a tutorial on creating an icon from the cutout? I just tried with iconographer and photoshop and it was hideous. I appreciate your help and thank you.

@Mac_Brat, once you have cut it out in photoshop, save it as a .png. Then go get Pic2icon (google) and convert it with that.

What's the difference between what you told him to do and what I told you to do? Either way, he's getting a lesser icon that apparently he's not supposed to have..

Also.. um.. why can't it be distributed? Isn't it downloadable on Sascha's site or something? I can't see discontinuing an icon and then restricting people from getting a hold of it. What am I missing here?

It's not a released icon and it's not downloadable, it's just a custom image by Sascha. People that have it have done what I told Mac_Brat to do.... are you one of those people that think internet images are public domain and have no copyright? I hope not....
