Hi.

I recently upgraded a powerbook 3400 to system 8.6 and the sound was gone. After installing system 8.5.1 again the system still without sound. Even zapping the Pram didnt work. What can I do to correct the problem....

If you've exhausted all other resources, I would try pulling your 3400c apart and make sure that the ribbon cable that's attached to the board containing the speakers is secured to the motherboard. On my 3400c, the video ribbon cable eventually came loose and the display started doing bizarre things; I had to crack the machine open and reinsert the cable. After that, everything was fine.
