Cmd+Shift+4
Hold down mouse and drag from one corner to another (image will be saved as a PDF)
Convert PDF into .gif format, e.g. ImageReady
Host file on a webserver, e.g. .Mac
Link image to message

Hope that helps.

Have a problem doing this - I was hoping I could upload the image to macnn directly.

FYI, Cmd + shift + 3 is a faster way to take the screenshot.

Thanks,
BKB.

P.S. Could I PM the file to you to upload?

How do you get rid of the dock background? That's a great look.

Check out www.unsanity.com; download Application Enhancer and Clear Dock. Installation is self-expanatory.

Here's the current desktop on my 12" PowerBook. I just threw this together in Photoshop using a couple of standard Apple backgrounds and a scan from a Spongebob Squarepants coloring book. But I colored Patrick myself... and I didn't go outside the lines!

Very cool idea. Didn't know that you could capture the screen image with Cmd Shift 3 & 4. Any other nifty pointers you guys know about?
