I'm optimistic, but I think the rooftop scene seems like an odd cross between Trinity in the beginning of the Matrix & Spider-Man.

Looks pretty childish, which it should as it was a kids show, but I can't imagine going to it as an adult.

Who are they trying to target? A new audience or the people who remember it from when they are kids.

The original comics were actually far darker and more mature than the series was.

Stylistically, they seem to be following this pattern (Though it looked like they didn't have pupils till the very end...)

I've definitely seen enough of that guy. All those flying doves and fights in church scenes is enough after a while.

Did he do mission impossible 2? The worst movie ever.

It's targeting at the kids who grew up with it and are now in their 20s. I used to read the comic before the kids show ever came out and my entire group of friends all hated the TV show, toys and movies with a passion. Those left a bad enough taste in my mouth that I really don't have an urge to see this.

I remember the comics being great though, and they were much more grown up. Almost nothing like the cartoon.

You mean they don't have pupils right? Just like in the original comics and paperback RPGs.

I know you were joking, but here's a plausable answer: They mutated. We also don't know the maximum lifespan of some turtles and tortoises. On record, the oldest tortoise was 154 years old, and he died from an accidental fall. So they could be "teenagers" for a good 100 years for all we know.

Sorry, never read the old graphic novels, unfortunately. It was just a gut reaction from growing up with the original TV show, where they most certainly DID have pupils.

And here I thought that the new show was being unfaithful to the series in that respect... haha, I guess you learn something new every day.

Ha, I remember seeing the old movies as a kid. There was one scene where one of the turtles pulls his head into his shell. I was convinced that there was no way they could have done that with a human actor. Ah, youth and it's corresponding naivety to the ways of editing.

Looks good to me. I was one of those kids who enjoyed both the graphic novels and the original cartoon. I know a guy who works on the new show, but I haven't really watched it.

Me seeing this movie depends soley on which version of Splinter's origins they go with.

If he was the pet rat of Hamato Yoshi, I'll see it. If he is Yoshi himself, I will not see it.

I actually liked the first movie a lot...and i thought the special effects were great. not "perfect"...but definately great.

Im eally looking forward to this movie....great stylistic upgrade imo. and im glad someones doing it in CG..cause it will definalely be un-inhibited...i hope the actual movie is a bit "darker".

Donatello buying parts for his perpetual motion contraption off of eBay

A scene where hot-headed Raphael perfects his latest head-butt maneuver, a tip-off too Zidane...

Michaelangelo finally gives up the surfer-talk and starts talking like a East/West-coast rapper or hip-hop artist or thug or whatever..... "Dude" gets replaced with "brotha"..... "whoa" gets replaced with "dang!"... and "Cowabunga" gets replaced with "Err-rrrraaaayyyy!!"

Leonardo is seen playing in a local arcade (in disguise) beating up all the local kids/teens in a game of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. His characters would be the sword-wielding ones (of course): Strider Hiryu, Hayato, and Silver Samurai (duh). (A tip-off to the old cartoon episode: "Leonardo vs. Tempestra")

Splinter, despite all of his ninja tactics, manages to get into trouble again.

For the record, I always wanted to be Donetelo, someone at lunch last year said that they figured I would have liked Micleangelo or Raphael. Actually everyone guessed everyone other than Donetelo... freaking losers!

Raph was always my role model... both the prankster, full of gags, in the cartoons........ and the hot-headed turtle in the first 3 movies and in the 2003-present cartoon.

Funny story I was chatting with another gay guy the other day, and he too wanted to be Donetelo... we determined there's a correlation between the purple ninja gear and queerness.
