What are the best pop music about video games? What are the favorites, the weird ones, and the down out bad ones.
It'd be nice to make a mix of a bunch of these, as a gift for some geeky friends one mine.

Anything whatsoever by Nobuo Uematsu (who did the music for most of the Final Fantasy series, but not FFX-2).
And then there's this little number...

I've always been partial to "Kids Run Through the City." It's the song that plays when you're in a town in FFVI. Good times, good times...

I wouldn't mind having the Super Mario Brothers soundtrack...the music from level 1:2 is the most underplayed track in radio history, an example that we don't live in such a free world.
and what is with the name.. Mario Brothers.. don't Mario and Louigi have a last name?!
Also, mario brothers is a blunt implication of two brothers named Mario. I wonder how many people Nintendo dissapointed with that blunder. That's all I have to say about that.

Yeah, I also love that one. The main theme, the underground theme, and the water theme are all excellent.

According to some people, they are both named Mario. IOW, their last name is Mario. Yes, that makes them Luigi Mario and Mario Mario.

The best video game tune is the intro music to an old Amiga/Atari game called "Dogs of War"

Q: Why is Luigi a Mario Brother? (Mario Bros.)
A: As reveiled in some games and the Super Mario Bros. movie, Mario and Luigi's last name are Mario. So their names are Mario Mario and Luigi Mario. The Mario Brothers.

Well, if anyone's ventured into the pc mmo world of EVE Online, I happen to really like "Below the Asteroids."

Its repetative synthesized music, but I find it highly relaxing.

Thanks for reminding me about that one. The Hyrule theme from the original Legend of Zelda is another tune I love.
