current system OS8.6, iMac Bondi, 96 Megs etc. Netscape 4.7.1 and QT 4.1 (pro)

and Netscape will not show movies imbedded - even if the QT plug is in the plugs folder along with a partner .cass-something

and looking in the apple menue under plugs it clearly says (or rather doesn't say) that QT 4.1 doesn't support .mov

I must admit I am baffled. I have had this problem for as long as I've had my iMac - can't remember I had it before I switched from a 040 performa - but then again it didn't have that much stamnia anyway.

SO, what blazes is wrong?

check your helper app settings...

it never hurts to delete Netscape's preferences file...

check the "MIME" settings in your QuickTime Control Panel, and make sure that what you need is enabled (checked on)
