Don't know were to properly ask this so..

Can anybody comment on how MS word performs on 2.66 Mac pro?

I am not talking about small letters and such but rather complicated text with lots of imbedded figures and such?

For any academics out there, we are talking NIH grants with lots of imbedded figures.
Yes, I know I could buy a PC, but why?

I'm running Office on my MacPro 2.66. Runs great...the only problem is that it is a little slow to launch....but once it is launched, it runs like a champ. Office is NOT a processor intensive app and runs fine under Rosetta. You will have no problems.

Most academic scientist still use MS word. Terrible, I know. How easy is LaTex to use? Word is terrible with large embedded images.

How do you think office 2004 would compare on a 2.66 MacPro to a 2.0 Dual G5?
