As of the last couple of weeks I've been having awkward things happening with my MacBook. The superdrive keeps attempting to eject a disk, but there is nothing in the superdrive, and I do not touch the eject button. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm kind of worried about it. I just had my HDD replaced at the Apple Store, due to a major HDD crash. Any and all help is appreciated.

When does it happen? If it's at wake from sleep, that's normal.

My MacBooks with combo drives both do it.

Seems to happen when anything polls the drive to see what its status is.

I don't think it's anything to worry about.

It's just been happening randomly when I'm in the middle of typing, or browsing on the 'net. I'm glad to hear that this seems normal. Thanks for you info.

I'd bet its just a loose optical drive cable, if typing seems to induce it. See if you can get them to reseat it.

I'll do that the next time I'm at the Apple Store. Thanks!
