hey guys....
i just tried to install DAVE version 2.5 on my pismo powerbook, which has OS version 9.02, but it wouldn't install--when i got to the screen where i select the disk to install it on, it won't let me hit "continue'--it says i have an unsupported version of the OS or something.........is there an update that i don't have???
i looked all over their web site, and it wasn't helpful at all......
anyone know how i can get it to install?

Have you tried upgrading to OS 9.04?

nah--i have no desire to upgrade to 9.04, my system is working great right now, so i don't feel the need to mess with it.
in reading over the requirements for DAVE, it only says 9.0, anyway, so i believe that 9.04 would be unsupported, too....

FYI, I have Dave running on my iMac DVSE with 9.0.4 and it works great... I'm using version 2.5.1 though, so maybe try that.

during the installation routine, dave 2.5 checks your mac os version. if it is above 9.0, you'll get that nasty error message.
if you've access to os 9.0, install it and then run the dave installer. once you've got dave installed, upgrade mac os. i know it's an awful lot of trouble, but i've done it myself (now running 9.0.4) and dave works fine after the upgrade.
the 2.5.1 patch is apparently a maintenance release, but i believe it must be applied after dave is installed, since it does not have an updated installer.

I can confirm that DAVE 2.5x is not compatible with 9.0.2 at all. You MUST upgrade to 9.0.4 in order to install DAVE. I have tried repeatedly to install DAVE 2.5x on G4s shipped with 9.0.x, without success. Upgrading to 9.0.4 allowed me to install without problems.
