My wife, daughter, son and I all have separate accounts on my iMac. Yesterday, my daughter complained that her iTunes library was empty, including all of her purchased music. Sure enough, it was. When I went to Preferences/Advanced and looked at the folder location, it seemed to be correct. It indicated a folder with several folders within it which corresponded to her former artist list. I moved the folder to a different location and then reidentified it through the prefs, but had no luck. By the way, my iTunes is operating fine.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks -
Mike

Are the actual music files still there?

Yes, they are. I just found that if I go to the actual music files in the music folder and double-click them, each song that I double-click then appears in the music library list on iTunes. Surely there must be a simpler way.....

I believe there is. Open iTunes and under the Preferences-Advanced, you can click on Change and navigate to your music folder and reselect it. That should get your, or rather your daughter's, music library back into iTunes.
Hope this has been of some help. Good luck.
