I came home this morning and my Macbook's (C2D) fan was running a mile a minute and it was real hot. It had been sleeping for days and when I opened the lid it would not come out of sleep. I had to hold down the power button to reboot it and it took a long time to boot up.... Should I be worried?

something running...your mac froze, did not sleep (or woke, and froze); you could check the Console (in utilities) to see what happened.

basically, a freeze, and you were forced to restart. unless it happens again, you should be ok...
