I recently discovered that bluetooth on my G5 dual 2 GHz PowerMac has completely died. The icon no longer shows up in the system prefs, and when I run hardware profiler, it unhelpfully says "No information found" in the bluetooth section.

I cannot be certain that this has been caused by the problem reported by some with the 10.4.4 update, but it did happen within a week of that. I have since installed the 10.4.5 update, reset the SMU, reset the PRAM, and tried to manually drag the bluetooth pref pane into the system prefs (it says it already exists). None of these things has helped.



I'm out of ideas. Anyone?

i got this problem also...i got it to light up again once, but during tthata time, it still wasnt recognized...

I actually bought a new bluetooth module ($30.00) and replaced the one in my G5, but it made no difference whatsoever. This must be OS update related.
