Its the only game on my computer at my internship, but its no fun to play because the stupid machine always beats me in 25 moves, even with the difficulty turned as low as possible.

And don't tell me that it is a sign that I need to get work done at my internship, I already know that.

Dude, I beat it in like 5 moves...

Actually yeah, I've never been able to make any headway with it whatsoever. It's never actually beaten me though, because I always see that it's inevitable and give up first. It's called a 'strategic retreat', it's kinda like winning lite.

I HATE that stupid chess game, even when you have the comp give you a hint every move, it still ends up beating you.

Snort. Took me 38 moves in a game of attrition, but I just thrashed the computer.

You, you are all weak...

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.

Yeah, it's pretty good.
BTW, the underlying chess engine is GNU Chess.

Either we have different chess games, or you're really bad at chess!

I hadn't played a set of chess for about six years, I'd guess, till I thought I'd try one just now. Set it to easiest, naturally, and beat the computer in 29 moves in my first try, with no real problems. And trust me, I'm bad at chess.

I'm sure Mr Kasparov could beat it... maybe in a round robin tournament where he goes around various tables with different players... iBook on the 1st table, then Powerbook, iMac, PowerMac etc etc...

It's beatable... look at it this way, your Mac vs. Deep Blue... who would your money be on?

I know who'd I'd be backing

No, I'm not bad at chess. I can beat my friends close to half of the time (all Cal Berkeley or Brown University graduates) and I can beat the Freeverse chess games at moderate difficulty. How about you win a game right now, save the moves, send them to me, then I'll use them against the Chess game that came with my iBook and see if it is still a winning game.
