Help! I tried to use this guide to install Yosemite on an external drive:
How to Install OS X 10.10 Yosemite on an External Drive - Tuts+ Computer Skills Tutorial
But something got wrong and after the obligatory reboot the drive died (it was old). The problem is now that the OSX Yosemite Installer couldn't finish and blooks booting into the normal OSX.
Does anyone know If I can somehow delete the Installer (script?) per recovery mode or single user mode?

Hold down the option key when rebooting to selecting your preferred drive to boot into.

There are "OS X Installer" and the "Recovery" available.
Chosing the first one leads to a hang, as there is no external disk anymore to finish the installation.

Boot into Recovery, open Disk Utility, and take a look at your regular drive. There's something wrong, but we'll need a few more specifics to figure it out.

I did reinstall Yosemite again with the Recovery Mode. Gladly that leaves user settings intact. I don't exactly know what went wrong, but no lasting harm seems to be done. Thanks for the answers!

It’s good that no error is here now. But in my opinion the error must be related with the RESTART option. Because when we install any software or an app. System asks to restart now or later. May be that step got left to finish OS X installation process. So that when you tried to boot again. it was solved
