Normally I don't create new threads for a MacThemes.net weekly Insider, but I think you guys will find this of special interest. (And I couldn't find a relevant thread to post in.)

Enjoy, and thanks to Xanthic for his excellent theme, which I cannot stand leaving. It's really that good.

Here's another image to pique your interest:

Are you calling my reviews flat? In tone or something? I don't know if I comprehended what you said lol. Something that may be confusing is the two variations shown in the preview; they're going between aqua and metal, with the metal version being the smooth, "aerodynamic" surface that I describe.

At first I thought mac themes would die in a couple of days and that they couldn't possibly uphold that level of quality in OS X theme coverage -- but I was wrong.

Great job unveiling what appears to be a killer upcoming theme.

if all goes as planned, i should be releasing tiskin within the next two weeks. i am currently having a few issues with inactive state images, but that should be resolved soon. some variations of tiskin should follow shortly after the initial release.

A very elegant and sophisticated
looking theme. It has simplicity
and substance in it's favor.

Very few themes are "flat".

Simple doesn't necessarily mean bad.

Boring? How are current themes boring? Because a lot of them are gray? Blame OS X.

Handicapped? The only handicaps I see are in place simply because OS X was not meant to be themed, and some things just cannot be changed yet.

Easy to throw together? If you think you can do a better job I invite you to try. You show a fundamental misunderstanding of how a theme is created. No matter how good or bad it looks, a complete theme is not "thrown together easily".

Last week everyone was having orgasms over flat themes now they are happy to see a theme with some imagination, artistic and technical talent involved.

That's scizzoid.

Bright green isn't my thing ether, but it does look very nice.

Hay and where do all these trolls come form? I bet none of them could make a theme half as good, if even.

the green wallpaper is one of the bundled wallpapers in the extras. it actually looks a lil better without all the windows in the way. the wallpapers in the extras are very simplistic and toned down content wise. and a few of them (like this green one) sport saturated monochrome color schemes, one for each of the major colors in the spectrum.

Exaggerate much? There were two flat themes and I don't remember that big of a deal being made about it.

Now it seems as if you're suggesting it took no talent to create either of them. I think you're wrong. Feel free to prove me wrong and throw one together, since it's easy to do.

Again, schizoid? I try not to make it a point of pointing out when people spell something wrong, but come on.

And I still don't think it fits. If you're suggesting that it's inconsistent for people to like flat themes and themes with more dimensionality, then I think that would be bipolar if anything. But it still isn't because it is indeed possible to appreciate more than one "type" of theme.

Are you going to at least attempt to answer the questions I asked in my first post?

I don't care what kind of theme it is as long as it's well done. This theme is well done. It looks nice. You've got your opinion but that doesn't mean you have to troll this topic. If you don't like a theme you can ether: 1. state you do not like the theme in a non-offensive manner, and leave the topic. 2. Don't reply 3. Add constructive feedback without annoying everyone.
You are just adding useless criticism, being an asshole, and making a fool of yourself. Go back to your Windows theme boards and stop bothering us.

Invictus: Ignore List for you!

That's just a background image in Finder right? I still wish the background color could be changed in columns view.

My only complaint is the size of the x-+ widgets... so small... a variation that makes them bigger would be niiiice.

Slick theme, I can't wait, but what's up with the parallel lines running through the title bars?

thanks guys!

yeah, thats a background image in the finder window, its also included in the extras. i just wish that the finder would keep background images stationary when you scroll. its kind of annoying seeing it disappear when you scroll down a folder full of items.

the widgets are actually not too bad. the click mask is actually a little bit bigger than the actual button, so it shouldn't be a problem clicking them. bigger widgets ruins the flow of the titlebar in my opinion. these small widgets don't get in the way, and make everything else look more spacious.

the lines in the bottom of the menubar add to the sense of 3D that there is in other parts of the theme. it adds depth to the menu bar. the line is also in the bottom of the aqua window titlebars. it makes these elements look raised, and precision cut i believe.

Yah, just backing up Xanthic on this... I found the widgets to be a bit small for my tastes too, especially from screenshots, but once I started to use TiSkin, no problemo.

I make my finder backgrounds 1500 pixels tall so there's no end...it would be nice if we could set it to tile.

I don't mean at the bottom, but in the middle. Look at screenshot, there's color banding stripes thru the title bars of the window pref panel and the System Prefs window...or is this just jpg artifacts? Perhaps post a smaller uncompressed view of these elements?

Sorry guys, it's not

Believe it or not, these seemingly random, sharp glares work really well. Personally, I was tired of the perfect, sharp glares at half height, or the smooth gradients, and this little added element of randomness makes the look more interesting. Oh, and you forget about it after a while

It doesn't bother me any.

When I first saw the image it looked like a gradient with it's opacity lowered (i.e. not enough colors to display smoothly). I kind of like that though, it gives it... character. I just didn't realize it was intentional.

Plastic themes are so cool, specially love the scrollbars, also nice how the menu's are black which makes it really noticable.

anti-sleep: yeah the menus are a little similar to milk's. but i'm not even gonna start on who added them first or whatever, cause i honestly cannot even remember when i added them. but milks are more gray, the ones in tiskin are more darker... which isn't a good thing at times since they do blend into dark wallpapers, so that is something that i need to fix.

silky: yeah those were intentional. as phillryu mentioned, they add interest to the design. i also added the glare to many of the other elements throughout the theme. works nicely i think.

Xanthic, very nice theme you got going there. I seem to recall you mentioning color variants; where would that apply? To the widgets? Or the windows? Just curious.

btw. I would think that the widgets are a bit too small too but I guess it's nothing once I get to use it on a daily basis.
