"slide to unlock" bar is too wide. Hard for one-handed usage.

I find the "slide to unlock" bar too wide for one-handed thumb swiping. I think it would be better if it were 0.5 cm narrower. It's great for two handed usage, but often that's inconvenient.
I'm right handed, and I find it tough to swipe it all the way to the right.
What do you think?

Is this gonna turn into one of those "OMG! If you magnify it 400 times you can see there's one less pixel in the left hand corner of the iTunes window than in the right hand corner!!1!1!111one" threads? 'Cause I dont' know if I can deal with one of those on a Friday.

I don't see how this is even remotely close.
I unlock my phone roughly 30 times a day. And each time I find it annoying because of the length of the slider.

I have no problems unlocking my iTouch with either the left or right hand. It doesn't cause any discomfort or annoyance.
Do you find you have to flex/curl your thumb too far? I have short thumbs, so I don't have to curl or rotate mine too much to reach the end of the slider.

Yeah, I find I have to curl my thumb too far. Basically for the swipe to work with my right hand only, I have to make sure the phone is resting on the ends of my fingers (not in my palm) of my small hand before I swipe with my thumb. But even then I have to pull my thumb all the way into the metacarpal of my index finger. The problem with that is that I don't feel the phone is safely in my hand this way. It's fine on my couch, but I wouldn't do that walking down the street cuz I'm afraid I'll drop it.
It's not deal-killer, but nonetheless I find it annoying, esp. since it's the action I do the most with this phone.
For my previous phones it was never an issue, but that's because unlocking those just meant pressing a few buttons, and those phones were only about 80% as wide.

Frankly I'd like to see Apple provide an option that does away with the whole swipe to unlock thing.
Why can't the home button serve this purpose? To me it was more of a touch screen gimmick that helped sell the iphone than a requirement.
People should have the option to disable it.

If all that needed to be done was touch the Home button, then they would often be turned on unknowningly while in a pocket, purse, backpack, etc.
