Hey

both my iMac and my Cube have the Apple (clear) Pro keyboard which rocks.

Only problem is, I'm planning to arrange a visit between the iMac and Mr Ebay (it doesn't know this of course), so I can partially fund one of those sweet G4 iMacs.

Anyhow, as part of prepping the machine, I happened to turn the keyboard over and GAG! I can't believe how much crap ends up down there!

Now I certainly wouldn't want to purchase a used computer and find someone elses food and gosh knows what else prominently displayed in the bottom of the keyboard.

Anyone ever disassemble one of these? I see its got the ever popular TORX nut - so what size do I buy?

Any tips?

I'm just trying to make this as pleasant as possible for whomever ends up with little machine.

Take care and thanks!

This site has pretty good instructions for taking it apart. Good luck!

Before you go to the trouble to open it up, try turning it upside down and hose it down with a blast of compressed air, that works for me.

Thank you very much. I was perfectly happy living in my little world not knowing how much crap was on the underside of my keyboard. I probably won't be able to fall asleep due to the knowledge of what all is in my keyboard.
