i just recently came across this.
What are the implications (moral, ethical legal...) of using this?
I was recently using it and a pop up ad appeared saying something about spyware and that it might be making my computer slower. Where did this come from? another window i had opened?
or did it come from acquisition?
thanks alot. you guys sure are helpful.

Use Firefox browser... or turn off PopUps!
IT IS ILLEGAL TO COPY (DOWNLOAD) COPYWRITED MATERIAL THAT YOU DON'T OWN LICENCE FOR!
It also dangerous to download & install programs "donated" by unknown sources! I guarantee that sooner or later you WILL download a trojan program that does harm. You are giving an installer from an unknown source to have ADMINISTRATOR permissions to your computer.
GOOD LUCK and USE PROTECTION!

Safari: Apple-K to block pop-up windows. What you saw was probably an advertisement for some program that is most likely PC-only and probably spyware itself.
Also, using a Peer-2-Peer client (such as AcquisitionX) to download materials that you do not own is illegal. What's also illegal is sharing files on your computer that are copyrighted.

There is no way to block popups in Explorer. Explorer is old and crappy.
Safari is free. Run Software Update and update to the latest version.
I don't use Acquisition. Poisoned is better and free.
