what's the way to determine which type of monitor i can get for my mac quicksilver?
from i've heard, there has to be a specific type of connection already available in the back of my g4. does the system profile have that info?
thanks.....

The connector is ADC. Get a 17" Studio Display used. I am using one right now.

What video card are you using? Tell us what it says under Graphics/Displays in the System Profiler. Get the name of the card and how much VRAM you have.

Your video card can have VGA, DVI, ADC or a combination of the three. Google each of these connectors for a pic and compare it to what you have.

What size monitor you get depends on your video card and how well the monitor will perform.
