Back in May, I took my Pismo to Apple to have the pink screen replaced under AppleCare. I took it to them on a Monday, and to my surprise, was looking at it that Thursday. Not bad service if I do say so myself.
However, the screen that they put in it has 4 dead/stuck pixels on it, and now there are two dark portions of the screen at the lower left and right hand corners. I think it has to do with the hinge clutches wearing out, since there is a significant amount of play in the screen.
I love my Pismo, and I hate to part with it for any real length of time. However, do you think Apple will replace/repair the hinges as well as put a new screen in that doesn't have dark splotches or stuck pixels? If it looks like they will, I'll take it right up to the store in Fashion Island again. I just hope they don't give me any guff about it.

Obviously, they're not going to be happy about it, but if you have an extended warranty on your PowerBook, it's likely that a screen with four dead pixels and two dark spots will get replaced.

Same thing happened to my Pismo in the bottom left corner.. it started to become grey. I had it fixed under AppleCare with no problems.

About a week after the strap on my carrying case broke, and my case took a tumble down the stairs with my Pismo inside, my PB develop a single vertical line of red pixels, in the middle of the screen. I got it replaced under Apple care with no problem. I didn't mention the fact that it had taken a tumble.

Have you any idea / infos by Apple, what caused this corner-effect? First I thought it was spilled liquid/moisture.
Regards,
PB.

4 stuck pixels and 2 dark patches are inexcusable. Surely they saw the screen before they put it in.

Well, the two little dark spots in the corners have only developed in the past few weeks or so. That didn't really bug me. The fact that I got 4 dead pixels in a replacement screen straight from them kinda peeved me. Hopefully they won't give me anything when I finally take it in.
I've also noticed that the brightness on this replacement (Samsung LCD I believe) is a lot less than the original. Maybe I'm just crazy.
